Screening of the film ESCAPE TO THE SILVER GLOBE and a meeting with the director, Kuba Mikurda
In Polish
Andrzej Żuławski’s ON THE SILVER GLOBE (1976/1987) could become one of the most breakthrough science-fiction films in the history. The production’s dash, a star-studded cast, revolutionary costumes and set design promised a masterpiece. So why did the film authorities of the Polish People’s Republic terminate the production two weeks before the shooting was complete? Was this for financial reasons? For political ones? Artistic ones? Or maybe personal? All that was left is the legendary film which still is an inspiration for filmmakers all over the world. And the crew’s emotions which are as powerful as forty years ago.
