Meeting: Lesbian and queer archives… in Poland?

Following the screening of "The Archivettes", dir. Megan Rossman, and "Leftovers", dir. Michelle Citron.

In Polish

Partner: Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw

The event is organized in cooperation with U.S. Embassy in Poland.

Do lesbian archives exist in Poland? What can be found inside if they do? What obstacles await those who research the non-heteronormative past? What challenges do they face? Megan Rossman’s film portrays the founders of the Lesbian Herstory Archives founded in the 1970s. How is the history of Polish women-loving-women different from that in the USA? Are we able to fathom a lesbian archive functioning on the scale presented in the movie?
