Global premiere of a film about Tadeusz Mazowiecki and a discussion

Film: Make Revolutions by Phone. A Short Movie about Tadeusz Mazowiecki

Partner: Andrzej Wajda Film Culture Centre

Tadeusz Mazowiecki, the first Prime Minister of free Poland, takes us on a journey through the transition to democracy in the 1980s and ‘90s. He ponders, he listens, he’s a tough negotiator: he might be aware of leading a tremendous revolution. What values and ideals guided this transformation? What can we learn from him today? Make Revolutions by Phone. A Short Movie about Tadeusz Mazowiecki is a documentary essay assembled out of archival footage from various periods of Mazowiecki’s life. The titular protagonist debates himself in this film, set off by dynamic animations and young alternative music.

The screening will be followed by a meeting with the director and a debate on contemporary forms of citizenship.
