Rafael Lewandowski, an experienced director with an eye for detail, discovers that the crystalline beauty of the works of Zbigniew Herbert hid the obscure personal life of a man struggling with anxiety, pain, and illness. This film, first of its kind, is a collection of statements of the people who personally knew Herbert, but never discussed him openly. Lewandowski and his co-director, Andrzej Franaszek, will discuss their experience with dissecting the multifaceted image of the poet through encounters with other people.
