A Q&A session with director Kuba Mikurda after the screening of Escape to the Silver Globe
Andrzej Żuławski's On the Silver Globe could have become one of the most groundbreaking science-fiction films ever. The sheer production size, the star-studded cast, revolutionary costumes and set designs portended a future masterpiece. Why, then, did the cinematography decision makers of the People's Republic of Poland halt production mere two weeks before the shooting was finished? Escape to the Silver Globe is a documentary on the greatest mystery, and the greatest unfulfilled dream, of Polish cinema.
We will talk with the director, Kuba Mikurda, about the phenomenon of On the Silver Globe and recount the nearly 11 years he has spent making the documentary which details the history of Andrzej Żuławski's film.
