Jacinta
”Jacinta” follows a young mother in and out of prison in Maine, while exploring the relationship between trauma and love within a family fractured by a cycle of addiction and incarceration. Jacinta is 26 and just left prison, with her own mother still inside. Outside, her daughter awaits her, motivating her to escape the vicious circle of taking heroin and committing petty crimes. Jessica Earnshaw accompanies Jacinta in her slow process of adaptation to her new reality, drawing an intimate portrait of her relations with her loved ones and also discovering secrets from her past. The mother-daughter relationship (in both forms) remains in the heart of this moving and very authentic story.
