Meeting with the authors of “Polish Self-Portrait”
In Polish
“Marriages are ending. Lives are ending. Things will be tough once it all ends. I’m glad I can at least talk to you—virtually, of course,” says Piotr after spending a month locked inside his apartment. Practically everyone in Poland is in the same situation: isolated, awaiting the vaccine that will cure their loneliness. This film is a record of one year of the pandemic in Poland. It was assembled out of personal videos recorded by its protagonists and documentary footage of the daily life in Poland during the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the screening we will meet with three of the authors—Jakub Drobczyński, Maciej Białoruski, and Jakub Rados—and ask them to share their thoughts about the reality of the pandemic we are living through.
Moderator:
Joanna Sowińska—systems therapist with many years of experience working with couples and single patients. Sowińska initiated the Instytut Pomocy Profesjonalnej initiative in Poznań which educates young psychologists and supports them in improving their practical skills. Together with Łukasz Raszewski she hosted last year’s Filmoterapia series in Kino Muza, discussing contemporary relationship dynamics with the attendees.
