Lecture for the Seniors before the screening of „Divinations”

The Documentary Academy for the Seniors will feature two films, with a lecture given by Jacek Szymański – a well known film critic from Wrocław, long -term activist of film discussion clubs, and legendary host of the Senior’s Film Club. We will travel to southern Italy to meet an amazing magician by the name of Achille. This Sicilian fortune teller once made famous thanks to local TV stations, was sentenced to a long time in prison. After being released, he tries to pick up the pieces and make ends meet. He has to face distrust from his former public, who shifted their attention to different fortune tellers and magicians. Achille starts tarot reading and foretelling the love life of his clients.
