During the August 2020 presidential election in Belarus, three actors of the underground Belarus Free Theatre in Minsk—Maryna, Pavel, and Denis—get involved with mass protests against Alexander Lukashenko. They walk the streets of Minsk to stand up for freedom of speech and support the long-awaited changes in power; civil disobedience becomes something akin to a moral imperative. However, the voice of the people gets brutally silenced by the regime’s security apparatus. The actors end up under arrest.
