This behind-the-scenes coverage of the work of the investigative department of Germany’s biggest newspaper, Süddeutsche Zeitung, portrays details and methods that up until now had been considered trade secrets, giving an unprecedented insider perspective on the mysterious journalistic techniques. Two years after the reveal of the famed Panama Papers, investigative journalists are facing new challenges: the political assassination of Maltese reporter Daphne Caruana Galizi and a mysterious arms dealer linked to the Iranian nuclear program.
