After the screening of Body of Truth, a conversation between prof. Grzegorz Hańderek, a visual artist, Monika Wachowicz, a performer and Ewa Sadkowska
Marina Abramović, Shirin Neshat, Sigalit Landau and Katharina Sieverding experienced war, violence and oppression before becoming famous artists. The aforementioned ordeals influenced the idea of using their own bodies as the most effective means of artistic expression. The film depicts their creative processes, and the way their work forces the four artists to look for new perspectives, sharpen their artistic sensitivity and awareness, and search for new tools that could match the complex nature of our times.
The panel after the screening will be attended by: Grzegorz Hańderek PhD, a visual artist, rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Monika Wachowicz, an actress, performer, educator and organizator of artistic events, involved with A Part Theater, Grotowski Instutute, president of the Art for Life Foundation and Ewa Sadkowska, the director of Silesia Film.
