Gianfranco Rosi retrospective

Rosi travels around the world to document socially important events and locations where human suffering is painfully present. He visited a serial killer in Mexico (El Sicario, Room 164) to show the massive scale of power of the local drug cartels, depicted the lives of people residing around the Rome ring road (Sacro GRA, Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival), traveled to Lampedusa to discover the horrific conditions of refugees crossing the Mediterranean (Academy Award-nominated Fire at Sea)… His latest oeuvre, Notturno, examines the situation in the war zones of the Middle East. This year, the festival audience will have the opportunity to get to know the films of the outstanding director better.
