A Q&A session with director Maciej Bierut following the screening of Comic Book Shop

Comic books, the inexhaustible source of film inspiration for decades, are at the center of both the private and professional life of protagonists of Maciej Bierut's film. Comic Book Shop is a humorous chronicle of comic book culture in Poland, shown through the prism of an iconic store which managed to bring together a host of graphic novels enthusiasts. Centrum Komiksu (Comic Book Center) in Warsaw is the longest operating comic book store in Poland, established in the early 1990s. Kuba and his father have been running their business with passion and dedication, creating an influential, seminal meeting place in the process.

We will talk to Maciej Bierut, the director of Comic Book Shop, about the specific nature of comic book culture, its onscreen depictions and its reality, and about portraying places important to local communities.
