Dot to Dot: architect couples in Poland. Lecture following the screening of “Aalto”

In Polish

Molickis, Tarnawskis, Barskis or Müllers : these architect couples found love for each other and for the post-war architectural revival of  Wrocław and Lower Silesia. They came to the Regained Territories to meet at the reopened Department of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology. They then joined forces to create innovative designs at  Miastoprojekt, the municipal design office. Their stories will be told by Agata Gabiś, architectural historian. How did they cope with the harsh post-war reality, which often impeded creativity and fulfilling one’s goals? Could we call them the power couples of architecture today? Keeping in mind the life of Alvar Aalto and his relations with Aino and Elissa in the background, we will take a look at the lives of Poland’s famous architect couples, both in and out of the architecture office.
