Can you make a film about just anyone?

Meeting with director Paweł Łoziński following the screening of The Balcony Movie

In Polish

Paweł Łoziński is an eminent Polish documentary filmmaker and lecturer. His new project aims to prove you don’t need to travel across the world to find a good story. Łoziński turns his lens to to the people seen from the balcony of his apartment in the Saska Kępa neighborhood of Warsaw, watching as they pass by smiling, sad, lost in thought, glued to their phones, young and old: people from the neighborhood, passers-by, just regular folks. The author talks to them, asking questions and learning how they cope with life. His exceptional talent for conversation draws deep confessions out of his interviewees as they build wonderful relationships. This meeting will allow festival attendees to discuss the sensitivity of documentary filmmakers and curiosity about other people’s lives with the director.
