REINHOLD VORSCHNEIDER

Reinhold Vorschneider, born in 1951, studied at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) from 1983 to 1988. Since graduating in 1988, he has worked as a cameraman. In this capacity he often works with auteur filmmakers such as Rudolf Thome ("Paradiso", 2000), Angela Schanelec ("Afternoon", 2007), Maria Speth ("Madonnas", 2007), Thomas Arslan, Christoph Hochhäusler and Benjamin Heisenberg.

Many of his films were shown at the Cannes Film Festival ("Marseille" by Angela Schanelec, 2004) or the Berlinale. In 2010 Reinhold Vorschneider was represented at the Berlinale with three films: Benjamin Heisenberg's "The Robber" (Competition), Angela Schanelec's "Orly" and Thomas Arslan's "In the Shadows" (both in the Forum).

Reinhold Vorschneider was nominated for the German Film Award and the German Camera Award in 2010 for his work for Benjamin Heisenberg's film "The Robber". In 2011 he received a nomination for the Austrian Film Award for this film.

In 2013, Reinhold Vorschneider was awarded the Marburg Camera Prize for nationally and internationally outstanding image design in film and television for his entire body of work.

In 2016 for "Wild" by Nicolette Krebitz he received the German Camera Award and in 2017 the German Film Award.

For "The Dreamed Path" by Angela Schanelec he is awarded the German Film Critics Prize "Best Camera".
