Inner Ear Massage Parlor—Zakrocki and Mazurkiewicz. Following the screening of Oh it Hertz!, dir. Gunnar Hall Jensen.
In Polish
The Inner Ear Massage Parlor is a snake-oil project that blends truth and fiction, the absurd and the grotesque, with a measure of seriousness. Drawing on the traditions of shamans and field surgeons, we discover deep connections between medicine and music based on healing through listening. Our activities differ from those of music therapists, but we do not reject the knowledge and inspiration coming from their field. As snake-oil salesmen we’re shriven and free, as kindhearted people we have the best intentions. According to the teachings of Professor Ripplemark, we play and we cure—both others and ourselves!
Hosts:
Patryk Zakrocki - improviser, composer, sound artist. Largely self-taught, he studied composition under Prof. B. Schaeffer and Indian music under M. Pomianowska. Creates chamber music, electroaccoustic music, radio dramas, film and theater music, and fable music.
Jacek Mazurkiewicz - contrabassist, composer. His sound arrangements are based on the pulse and emotional impressions. Scorer, composer, and cinematic and theatrical music producer. His latest activities involve working in a laboratory at Lublin’s Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.
